Pelican Illness

Animal experts are trying to find out why hundreads of pelicans are bexoming ill. A number of dead or ill birds has been spotted along the Californian coastline. Rescue workers are trying to help these ill birds but they don't know the cause of the illness. They are managing to save the pelicans at the cost of $500 for one bird. Some of them have been found far away from their homes and seen in places such as gardens, roads, and feilds. Experts are going to use an blood test to see what is making them ill. The ill birds will look thin, confused, and have discoulored patches on their feet. These pelicans was almost extinced in 1960's and 1970's becaude a very harmful pesticide got into their food. The specie did not recover until 1972.
